Your Holiday, Planned By Us

Windmill at Mowbreck Park

For the nature lovers…

Start your day with a walk round Mowbreck Park, surrounded by paths and fields there are many paths for you to explore.

Just a 5-minute drive away is the green at Wrea Green, where in summer you will find the local cricket team practising and ducks swimming in the pond.

But, with much to still see before the day ends, don’t spend too long on one of those benches overlooking the Green! Instead, continue on the road and head to Lytham St Annes where you can walk along the promenade, and you’ll also find many independent shops and cafes.

Or, for those who are looking to explore further afield, you can be in the Lake District in under an hour, where the possibilities of nature and exploring are endless! Or another alternative is to head to The Forest of Bowland, only 30 minutes away, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by fells.

End the day back at your Holiday Home, put the fire on, and settle in for the night.

For the little ones…

Waking up ready to explore the new area, start by exploring what’s on your doorstep; Ribby Hall, is a 5-minute drive away and the opportunities for exploration are endless. From swimming and horse riding, to play areas and mini golf.

Another 10 minutes on, and you will find yourself in Blackpool; a visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a must for children seeking an extra thrill. And why not stay in Blackpool for the evening, The Winter Gardens have spectacular shows on, and are great for entertaining children. Or, in winter, a trip to the Northwest isn’t complete without seeing the famous Blackpool Illuminations!

For the relaxers…

For the ones coming on holiday to relax and reset, start your holiday as you mean to go on, just 5 minutes down the road is the Spa at Ribby Hall. You could easily spend all day here, but if you want somewhere quieter to walk around, then you are best to drive into Lytham St Annes where you can walk along the sea front or choose one of their cafes to sit back and relax in. Whilst you are in Lytham, a visit to Craft + Common is a must; a new pottery painting studio whose concept is social meets creativity, and in true catering for all ages style, you can have a drink whilst you paint.

For the food lovers…

The problem for the foodies visiting us is knowing where to start and making sure you can fit everywhere in! For those who love a good Full English Breakfast with quality produce (that isn’t overpriced) then Dizzy Ducks is the place for you. We would also definitely recommend taking a slice of their cake to go. Or head to them for lunch where they serve warming lunches in winter and a selection of sandwiches and salads all year round.

If you find yourself in Lytham, The Queens is a great spot for a pint and a burger whilst you look out at the sea, and with outdoor seating in summer, there is a great atmosphere.

A similar style of food to The Queens, is The Eagle at Weeton, taking your classic pub food, but making it a bit more upmarket.

A must for breakfast or lunch is R Coffee in Ansdell, only 10 minutes away from us, they serve fresh pastries, great coffee, and amazing bagels.

But for the real foodies, The Cartford Inn is definitely worth a visit, recognised in the Michelin guide, you won’t find another ‘pub’ that can match their décor as well as their food. They’ve also recently opened a deli called Toti where you can buy some of the goods served in the restaurant.

For the explorers…

There are few places better suited as a base to explore the natural beauties of Lancashire. Whilst you do have rolling fields and walks on your doorstep, if you are looking to travel further afield, just 30 minutes away is The Forest of Bowland. Here you can find Beacon Fell, or, for a more challenging walk, Parlick Fell, where in summer you will find paragliders.

Alternatively, travel North on the M6, and in 50 minutes you will find yourself in the Lake District, where exploration opportunities are endless.

For the sporty…

Time your trip with the Golf Masters which are often held at the famous Royal Lytham Golf Club, just 15 minutes away from us. Or, if you are more of a football fan, the recently refurbished AFC Fylde football stadium is just down the road from us; this is well worth a visit as you won’t find many local football stadiums like AFC’s.
